Archery Wins State Championship

Cascade High School recently won the Archery state championship, with a truly amazing performance!

Oregon has about 9000 students from 150 schools with an archery program, grades 4 through 12. There are two contests: the bullseye competition, around for over a decade, and the 3D competition, added last year for the first time.

The Cascade program started 3 years ago, and has won the 3D tournament both years (as well as bullseye the last two years) with our boys and girls combined team.

Cascade boys have been 1st in state for the 3 years we have been competing (the 1st year we didn't have enough girl students for a full team.)

This year we swept the overall (all ages, both genders) archery bullseye competition with the best 1st -3rd place scores - Zander Medlock 1st, Dominick Medlock 2nd, and Justin Clare 3rd.
At the high school level in 3D, the girls also took home 1st as a team, and Amy Miller was our 1st indvidual girl state champion and Reegan Bills was 3rd.

In the girls high school bullseye competition, Jade Lindermann was 2nd and Reegan Bills was third. Not only that, but for the the combined 3D and bullseye over all ages, Amy Miller was 2nd overall girl!

All state placers qualify for the Western Regional division in Salt Lake City, and 1st through 3rd traditionally get scholarships from the National Archery Organization.

So far, Zander Medlock is the only student in the state of Oregon that has been a dual 3D and bullseye champion, and best overall (boys and girls, all ages) archer in all competing areas in Oregon!

Just an outstanding job by our team! You can see more pictures on our Facebook page.

Culinary Arts Cooks Up Military Rations

Two National Guard members brought a bunch of MRE (meal ready-to-eat) rations to the Cascade High School Culinary Arts class on Tuesday, and challenged them to make them taste as good as possible!

First, students tried the regular rations. Then, they were randomly given a ration and had to try to cook it and make it better. Judges came to taste and grade on flavor and presentation. You can see more pictures on our Facebook page.

Robotics Team Competes

Did you know Cascade High School has a robotics team?

Students from Cascade High School, along with peers from neighboring schools, recently wrapped up their 2026 FIRST Robotics Competition season as part of Hotwire Robotics - Team 2990. You can see more pictures on our Facebook page.

Over the course of the season, students spent weeks designing, building, and programming a competition robot, then put their work to the test at events in Wilsonville and Clackamas.

Along the way, they developed skills in engineering, teamwork, problem-solving, and communication, all while representing Cascade and the surrounding community with professionalism and perseverance.

The team also earned the Innovation in Control Award, recognizing their work on the robot’s control systems.

We’re proud of the dedication these students showed throughout the season and look forward to what they accomplish next year!

Archery Club Receives Grant

The Cascade Archery Club is honored to be the recipient of a $1000.00 grant from Bass Pro Shops to purchase much needed gear and supplies. The funds will be utilized to expand the archery program for kids in the Cascade School District.

At Cascade, we work hard to create opportunities that foster a sense of belonging and connectedness for every student, and the Cascade Archery Club is a excellent example of this belief in practice.

As a relatively new club, funding is an issue; you can help support the Cascade Archery Club by dropping off your tax deductible donations off at the Cascade High School main office.

Thank you Bass Pro Shops for partnering with Cascade and thanks to our community for all your support! Together, we can make a positive impact for kids and teach an activity that may last a lifetime!

Coaches David Medlock and David McEwen would like to thank Lisa Iverson for her work in applying for this grant!

Have a great weekend, Cascade!
